Learn About Your Representatives: To learn the names, addresses and telephone numbers of your senators and representative, visit http://www.congress.org.  You'll find this site to be a valuable resource in preparing you to approach your representative.  We encourage you to learn how your representative voted on key issues, what committees they sit on, and what legislation they are sponsoring or supporting.  All of this information can be located at www.congress.org website.  You simply enter your zip code to get a listing of your representatives.  From that point the navigation is easy and the information will allow you to be an informed advocate.  Make this Website your first stop before contacting your representative.

Review: The 7 Tips for Effective Advocacy are available for your review prior to beginning your outreach efforts.  Letters have a much greater impact on your congressperson then email because a thoughtfully worded letter means you are passionate about an issue and talking to others in the district.  So we end our introduction with a call for action.  Please write a letter to your representative today and inform them there is a way to improve the quality of life for millions of Americans and, at the same time, reduce the medical costs for treating lifestyle related diseases.
